Update 2/5/14: I picked two winners at random, and they are Meredith Sledge and Briar Winters! Please send me an email with your mailing address so I can send you your print :) Congrats!

I'm thrilled about how my first assignment of the year for Equinox turned out! Never had so much fun styling and shooting fruits and veggies. See which one they went with on Q by Equinox.

Yossy Arefi for Pantry Confidential

This lady and her home = calm, beauty, and elegant order. Yossy Arefi, who is a photographer, food stylist, baker, and blogger, was a quiet pleasure to photograph.

See what else is in Yossy's kitchen (hint: beautiful Persian essentials plus more gratuitous pie shots) over at Pantry Confidential!

VSCO Grid Feature

The fine folks at VSCO featured my mobile photography today! VSCO is my go-to for editing images for both my iPhone pics and my big professional camera pics.  Their aesthetic is clean, simple, and beautiful. I'm flattered they like my GridCheck it out. It's my visual diary of everyday beauty as well as far-flung travels, like this Icelandic scene below. It's amazing what you can do with your iPhone these days!

Sneak Peek! Gamma Folk Lookbook Fall/Winter 2013

It turns out that little old laid back me has a penchant for the dramatic after all.  Check these out.

All Images © 2013 Christine Han Photography

I couldn't wait to share a few of these with you because I had so much fun creating these images for Gamma Folk. The lady behind the amazing handmade jewelry, Lily Piyathaiserie, provided excellent art direction and styling, with help from Ken Baldwin and Arian FranzTeresa Mary Brown did the stunning hair and make up, and Ali Breslin was the gorgeous model. Collaborating with this team was easy, productive, and fun. Let's do it again, guys. The full lookbook will come out soon. In the meantime, you can check out Gamma Folk's previous collections here and here

Who else wants to do a lookbook? Contact me!

Two good interviews and a photographic reversal of the male gaze

1. Platon talks about turning his lens away from the powerful and onto the truly courageous, plus on what it takes to succeed as a commercial photographer.

2. Andrea Gentl, whose food + travel photography is out of this world, talks about what inspires her (the small things!) and shares her favorite places to eat, drink, and shop in NYC.

3. Hannah Price turns her camera onto the men who catcall her. Loved this series on reversing the power of the male gaze.

Mini Kyung: Raw Food Chef

Mini Kyung is a noted Korean raw food chef/personality, a PhD student in Health Policy, an enterpreneur, and a seasoned business woman. Somehow she manages to look like a fresh-faced teenager while doing all of it...could it be the raw diet?! I had the pleasure of taking her portrait for her first book. She single-handedly prepared a bunch of delicious raw vegan dishes for the shoot. Here are some of my favorite outtakes.

Can you believe all this food is raw and vegan? I got to eat it after the shoot, and it was fantastic! Mini even let me take the blueberry tart home because I liked it so much. Thanks for a fun shoot, Mini!

Two years

Two years ago, this happened. Happy anniversary, to my love, my muse, and my partner in crime. May we continue to make each other laugh every day for the rest of our lives.
