Moments like this are why I love photographing brides getting ready.
My favorite place in Schaumburg, IL
No trip to my homeland of suburban Chicago is complete without a visit to Spring Valley, where I've been going since I was an itty bitty kid. It's beautiful in summer, fall, winter, and spring...so basically all the time. My first black and white darkroom prints in high school were of this place. Since then I keep coming back for more, and though the place is tiny, I never tire of bringing my camera along on a walk. I think this is where I fell in love with tall grass; it must have imprinted early in my little kindergarten brain.
Chicago again
The answer is Chicago! But of course! =) Can you tell I like this town? Lake Michigan is so vast that being on the lakefront is like being in Santa Monica staring out into the Pacific. Minus the palm trees.
These fantastic views are from The Signature Room, on the 95th floor of the John Hancock Center. My mom, who is the best and the cutest, took me there for lunch. The food was meh, since what you're really paying for is the view, duh. But I still stuffed myself silly, since I have no self control around buffets. Mom, I had such a great time with you, thank you!
